A ski mountaineer traverses avalanche debris beside a fork of the Warwan River in India's Great Himalaya Range. This team of three skiers, who completed the first-ever ski traverse across the Himalaya from Ladakh to Kashmir, was later caught in an avalanche themselves. The photographer suffered two crushed vertebrae by managed to ski the rest of the way back to civilization.
